For 90 years, Westchester families have been visiting Playland Amusement park, a.k.a. Rye Playland, for fun summer days. This iconic amusement park has even made several appearances in pop culture, including various television shows, movies, music, and literary references. It's also listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Many families from NYC also take the drive out to Westchester for an exciting day at the park. Rye Playland had free daily entertainment, including a variety of fun shows that make for a good break from the rides. In 2018, the park held the following daily entertainment events:
Beginning Memorial Day Weekend and extending through Labor Day Weekend, Playland Park holds beach and pool hours. Only the beach is open until June 17, and the pool opens June 22. They also have a boardwalk which is always a great place for a romantic stroll or to simply relax and sit on a bench while taking in the views of the beach and boardwalk.
