Tibbetts Brook Park is known as one of the very first parks developed in Westchester County and was named after George Tippet, a local pioneer settler during the colonial era. The park is located in the Lincoln Park region of Yonkers and opened in 1927. Today, it spans at 161-acres of space filled with activities that include a variety of sports fields and courts, hiking trails, swimming pools, a miniature water park, tons of nature watching, and fishing.
The most popular amenity this park has to offer guests is their thrilling aquatic complex perfect for everyone of all ages. The aquatic sections offer a spraying playground for kids, an in-pool basketball and volleyball court, lap lanes for the avid swimmer, and an amazing "lazy river" for floating off while lounging in a blow-up donut.
If you'd prefer to stay dry during your visit to the park, check out the list of other activities to do like choosing one of their numerous hiking trails that span about 14 miles. Other activities include a fun-filled miniature golf course, ice skating or skiing in the winter, two manmade lakes for fishing, playgrounds, campsites, and tons of sports fields and facilities.
If you're interested in learning a bit of the history of the park, check out their Tudor-revival-style bathhouse that still stands in between the two pavilions at the end of the pool.
