Burke Bridge provides guests with spectacular views of the Bronx River. The bridge was built in 1949 and is composed of stone and concrete that spans 45 feet along the river bend. From the bridge, visits can catch a glimpse of many species of birds like the red-tailed hawk, double-crested cormorants, woodpeckers, black-crowned night herons, and wood ducks.
The River Lookout is a beautiful spot that overlooks the trees of the forest. See if you can spot the difference between the silver maple, American sycamore, pin oak, tulip popular, sweetgum or box elder.
The Island Lookout gives visitors a view of the Bronx River Island, a man-made island created in the mid-1900s. Lastly, the Retaining Wall shows off years of restoration and engineering work that has been performed over the last 100 years.
