The hamlet of Bethpage is located within the Town of Oyster Bay on Long Island in Nassau County, New York. The community was home to the Grumman Aircraft Engineering Corporation from 1936 until 1994. This company is credited for the production of the following:

  • the Navy version of the General Dynamics F-111 Aardvark
  • the Apollo Lunar Excursion Module (LEM) for moon landings

Just to the west of this company was the Naval Weapons Industrial Reserve Plant, also known as the Northrop Grumman Site Facility. The government-owned plant began operating in 1942. It produces aircraft for NASA and the US Navy within its 605-acre facility.
